Everything We Bought For Our Wedding Day: How Much Does A Wedding Cost Uk? 2023

HOW MUCH DOES A UK WEDDING COST: EVERYTHING WE BOUGHT ON OUR WEDDING DAY? 2023 [+video]Hello guys welcome back to youtube website and welcome to today’s article i hope you’re doing really well i am so excited to share this article with you because it feels like it’s been a long time coming as you can tell from the title we’re going to be talking about everything wedding related so i’m gonna answer all of your questions about the wedding we’ve been married for two months which i absolutely cannot believe i haven’t had my nails done i haven’t The first question was, “What did you do to prepare for your wedding in terms of beauty stuff like lashes and brows?” Waxing hair, self-tan, how much did it all cost, and what did you do? So when it came to beauty stuff, my process was very much save from like six months before the wedding and then like save a bit each month to get all of the beauty bits done at the end but the first thing that I obviously did in terms of myself like getting myself ready wedding ready was to try and clear my acne because there was a time when I was pretty much covered in acne all the time different This is a new formula for me this month, which is perfect.

I am a huge advocate for this little daily doser, and if you are looking for something to target your skincare concerns and you don’t want to have the wait times or expense of a dermatologist, you can actually access this for three pounds 50 for your first daily dose up by using my code, which is down in the description box, and i’ll pop it up on the screen now that I have a unique link and everything, which means you can get your first daily dose for three pounds 50. It’s usually 24.99, so 3.50 is an absolute bargain; it’s how much I pay every single month as well, and I love that they advocate not using loads and loads of products because for me, nothing was working; I had like thousands of different products, and I remember sharing them with you guys before, but now I literally have three things. i have my cleanser i have my daily doser and then i have my moisturizer and those two the cleanser and the moisturizer i actually rotate between skin and me cleansers and moisturizers and just ones that they actually recommended me so you don’t have to use their cleansers and moisturizers alongside this they do do them as well but they also can recommend you um like different ones you can get on the high street and stuff like that so i absolutely love it it’s worked wonders for me and now i’m on like my new skincare journey as well i guess after having got rid of my acne to maintain that but also then get rid of like scarring and other things like that and i genuinely cannot articulate enough how much of a big part this played on how amazing i felt on my wedding day so skincare was a huge huge part for me i had clear skin for my wedding and that was one of my main goals if you guys remember once my skin was sorted of the beauty bits that i did was waxing i had my legs waxed my underarms wax and my downstairs waxed i had that all done in one day and i was like red raw after that but i had that done in one day probably about three or four days before the wedding then i had my lashes done i also had my hair colored but that was like two weeks before the wedding and then i also faked hand but i didn’t get a spray tan i just used the garnier fake tan like moisturizer thing the gradual time that’s the one that i tend to use just because i’m not good at fake tan i couldn’t get booked in for a spray tan plus i found it difficult to time when to get a wax versus when to get a spray tan and like the port your pores being open things might get infected it was just like a whole big thing and i haven’t had a spray turn since my prom in 2014 so i decided against it and i decided to just go for the one that i always always use i’ve got it on at the moment that’s what i used i actually put two layers on and then i washed it off like in between layers and just so it wasn’t too intense and i felt like me still so yeah that’s what i did like on the lead up to the wedding oh and i had my nails done i had acrylic nails with um there was like an ombre effect and i had french tips on my toes when it came to on the day i had my hair and my makeup done and so did my bridesmaids and my mom so my hair was done by the lovely lovely girls at hair by the ops and i absolutely love them then my hairdresser’s down for when i lived in andover in new hampshire so if you’re local to that area highly recommend them um and they did just an amazing job is exactly what i wanted and i’ll show you some pictures and stuff on the screen hopefully as we speak um yeah they were absolutely amazing and then for makeup i went for a pretty subtle like bridal look i’m not i don’t wear heavy makeup i’m not wearing any at the moment and i don’t really to be honest like wear loads and loads of makeup so it was really nice to have like someone that got that and it was like her style of makeup as well and it was kaylee from makeup by kaylee kaley is really really really good highly recommend for bridal makeup if you are local to the sort of bishop stalford area she’s from so if you’re local to that area that is where kaylee is and if you’ve got an event or you’re looking for makeup i can i couldn’t recommend her more she did everything really perfectly for all of us like we all wanted different things some of my girls wanted like my bridesmaids wanted more glam looks and she kind of could tailor her style towards that and then i wanted more of a like subtle bridal look and she did it perfectly like i couldn’t fault her so that was everything that we did in terms of beauty okay so now we’re going to talk about general vendors how much they cost and where everything was from these are like the main questions i had like honestly so many questions about this so let’s just start i’m gonna go through my spreadsheet and i’m gonna tell you like where the venue was how much of a new cost who our photographer was which is like the main question because the photography was just so out of this world so yeah let’s just start with the venue so we got married at coville hall which is in essex white roading and it was absolutely stunning like that venue is everything that i could have wished for and the people that run it and everything they were just so good if you genuinely if you have the budget to do it i would highly recommend that venue so just for the venue hire and the wedding coordinator not the accommodation not the food not the actual like getting married part just the venue higher was 5854 pounds i originally thought that this meant like the venue and the food no it didn’t it didn’t mean that don’t make that mistake um but that is how much the venue hire cost the registrar so the person actually that married us and have the actual ceremony and everything and a wedding certificate cost 641 pounds in addition to that we also had to give notice to mary which was 35 pounds each which was 70 pounds in total s
o that’s just the random cost i didn’t know existed but there you go an extra 70 pounds just to tell them that you’re gonna get married wedding insurance which was 175 pounds that’s obviously just in case something happened covered wise or we had to cancel cause one of us was sick whatever 175 pounds of wedding insurance highly recommend and then caterers we went for premiere crew which is um based in essex as well because that’s why we got married so that kind of made sense and they were actually like they were kind of associated with our venue so our venue had three um preferred caterers that they would like us to use and premiere crew frankly were the cheapest uh still not cheap but the cheapest and we tried their food we went for like a food tasting and stuff and it was absolutely gorgeous so so nice including like the day food which we had canapes and then we also had like a three-course meal type thing um and then we also had like a cheesecake like cheesecake i’ll put pictures up you’ll know what i mean and that cost in total so for every single scrapper food that was at the wedding 5 167 pounds 44 pence on top of that drinks went including that so on top of that we had drinks which was provided by the venue and that was 2 640 pounds because we personalized some of the drinks that we had and stuff i think we had like gin and tonics we had prosecco we had beer and then oh no bellinis it was bellini’s and beer and then obviously soft drinks and stuff like that as well um and like toasting drinks and things like that and then at the venue we also had accommodation which included like bridal accommodation like um like the honeymoon suite i guess which was for me and ash and then we had two separate houses for guests like our close guest so like um bridesmaids our parents and like things like that and so in total the guest accommodation cost 1 716 pounds um which was for the two houses and then the bridal accommodation was 420 pounds for one night our photographer who i’ve spoken about already was sally rulings and she was so so good i would have paid double what we paid considering how amazing the photos turn out like i cannot tell you how happy i am with them she cost 2 000 pounds for what i think is like the standard package like so we didn’t get anything extra we literally just got photos for the full day her and another photographer taking different photos of different times and obviously her like editing every single one of those photos selecting like around 750 photos to send to us on a usb stick and on like an online version so we didn’t get like an album we didn’t get anything like that we’re gonna do that ourselves at some point but we’ve got the usb and we’ve put them onto our like laptops and our hard drives and stuff so we’ve got the photos there we’ll just do something else with them at another point i think we didn’t have a articlegrapher and i think that might be one of my main i wouldn’t say regrets because frankly we did not have the budget for it but if we did have the budget for it i would have got a articlegrapher um to capture even more of our day but frankly like we just did not have the money for it so we didn’t go for a articlegrapher in the end for music we went for a dj we went for dj dave b he was so so good and he cost 675 pounds from the beginning of the day all the way to the end of the day like he was he did every single bit of music like that we played that day and we gave him a couple of songs that we really wanted playing a general vibe and like sent him a playlist and stuff which actually i will link the spotify playlist that i used down in the description box it’s i i love it like it might not be to everyone’s taste but for a wedding playlist i thought it was like it captured us perfectly our first dance song is on there the song that i walk down the aisle to is on there i think i’ll get to that in like another section but dj dave b absolutely smashed it highly recommend if you’re getting married in like the london essex area he he was just so good so good then we went for some garden games which was an absolute hit for the kids it cost about 109 ecwid or something like that and i’ll pop the link down below of the people that we used i think it was called pup mad but i’ll pop them down below again in the essex area they were so good because they literally i didn’t even see them i paid them they came they say it all up and then by the end of the night it had gone like they just sorted it all out for us um yeah it was quite affordable in comparison to other people that i was looking at um in terms of entertainment and stuff and we had like little got mini goals we had a soft play um we had like little bouncy hopper things for the kids it was really really good and the kids really enjoyed it and that meant the adults were having fun and could relax a little bit so that was always that was the main thing that we wanted to do highly recommend splashing out on like 150 quid or something like that if you can to have that entertainment for the kids if you’re having kids at your wedding in terms of like invitations and any other like wedding stationery like little bits basically and we actually did all of those ourselves so i actually drafted them all on canva which i have a subscription to because i do youtube and stuff but it’s actually they have a free version that is just as good in my opinion so canva is an online like editing software they have loads of templates on there i didn’t even design it that much myself i just use other templates um so i did the wedding invites on there which we did electronically we did those through the hitched website which if you’re getting married you’ll know what hitch is already i’ve used it loads i did it for our table plans hitched is just like absolute top notch if you’re looking for like more in detail like wedding planning articles and i’ll link my wedding planning playlist down below but hitched is really good for sending out e-invites we don’t even know like the current addresses of half the people that we invited so we uh definitely did eve invites and literally sent them out on whatsapp with the link and then they could rsvp on the hitch website and it just worked out perfectly because it has an electronic thing as to who said yes who said no who’s like still outstanding and it was just so much easier the other things that we did were the table number like the seating plan thing so my friend actually did wooden like bit for me the wooden like sign for me for the seating plan but then i like basically just added some pegs and put on the signs for table one table two table three for the seating plan and i just got them printed again made them on canva and got them printed so it was just that easy and it was so much more affordable than getting it done through someone else like i said my friend did the signs for us so i gave her 50 quid even though she didn’t want anything but i wanted to give her 50 food at least like to cover her costs um so she is so good at like doing big palettes and she like makes them into she’s so so creative she did an order of events for us and she also did the um seating plan like seating plan thing for us and it was honestly it was just so so nice yeah i absolutely loved them and she is so so good i’ll pop her etsy down below then for our flowers we went with a floral desire florist who is based in bishop storefoot also um and she is so good she honestly created the most amazing bouquets for me two of my bridesmaids and then we had like a top table thing that went all along at the top table it was so gorgeous so we actually had it at the ceremony and then we moved it to the top table afterwards which was just absolutely like honestly it was so stunning in total everything that we got from her costs 300 pounds which i do not think is too bad considering how absolutely gorgeous they were and then for the center pieces i actually did all of these myself so everything including the flowers we use like faux flowers for the centerpieces i made those i made those in loads of articles by the way like you can go back and watch those articles i
f you’re interested and i talk about exactly where i’ve got everything from but in total for every single one of our centerpieces for nine tables i believe nine tables it only cost me 60 pounds in total so yeah i was pretty impressed with myself and it looked really nice and one thing specifically that i did was make the table numbers myself and i used acrylic sheets um and then my cricut machine and then a bit of pain and i just did those myself so yeah everything on those centerpieces was like a diy project and if you want to go back and click on the playlist down below where i actually made them then i’ll put the um wedding playlist down below obviously one of the main things that everyone wants to know after a wedding is where did you get that dress how much did it cost you etc so my exact dress is an essence of australia dress is the d298 model it’s gorgeous it’s so like it’s everything that i could have wished for and more like i absolutely loved it i bought it from a bridal shop in newbury called the bridal dress company by the way if you want the most gorgeous shop you’ve ever walked into in your entire life that is it it’s absolutely gorgeous i absolutely love them there and they were able to order it in for me then i was able to try it on and it almost felt like it fit like a glove the dress fit like a glove but i just needed the um alterations like on the bottom i just needed it like shortened basically which i got done um from a seamstress but the dress itself uh cost me about two thousand pounds which i know is a bit insane so uh my plan is i’ve had it dry cleaned and it’s all ready to go for someone else it’s upstairs as we speak my plan is to sell the dress so if any of you guys in the comments if any of you guys are looking for a dress to fit a size eight to ten five foot three gal hit me up because if you want that dress anyway um i absolutely love it it’s the most gorgeous dress in the world it was so comfortable didn’t feel like it’s gonna fall down at all and i felt gorgeous the entire day so genuinely if you’re interested in the dress put a comment down below and i’ll get back to you i promise because i definitely will be selling it i just haven’t got around to like posting it or anything like that so yeah that is my plan with the dress and oh gosh i just absolutely love it my bridesmaids dresses were good old asos dresses let me tell you it was very difficult to get a dress that worked for both of my girls because one of my girls is quite short and one of my girls was very tall and getting something that suited both of them they were both happy with color wise worked blah blah it was a bit of a nightmare but asos pulled through i loved this dress that we got them and it was only like 100 pounds and it worked for both of them in terms of height we didn’t have to get either of them altered because it opened at the front it actually didn’t matter if it was like dragging on the floor a little bit it really didn’t matter the only other things left on my spreadsheet to mention were bride accessories and shoes and wedding rings so i kind of went quiet budget on these things so shoes i just got some shoes from new look i have the exact shoes already in a khaki color or i had them until they broke um but i had them for about five years so i bought the exact same pair in a white and that was it that was the shoe that i went for in terms of accessories i wore some of my mum’s earrings which was my something borrowed which i’ll get into in a minute literally had a couple of like little um pins in my hair that my hairdresser did for me which you’ll see in lots of the pictures and then i had like a little clutch bag that i just left at the table but it had like my phone in it and some lipstick and stuff like that i didn’t really even need but i just wanted somewhere to like put everything i did also have a little necklace which had just a little tiny little fake diamond on the end of it nothing to it was quite dainty nothing too extravagant so yeah that’s what i went for there and that was pretty much it i wore my mum’s watch as well the same watch that she wore on her wedding day in terms of wedding rings weirdly even though it’s the thing that you’re going to be wearing for the longest we weren’t really budget on these and we did actually discuss it afterwards thinking maybe we’ll get better rings um like in the future at some point but maybe like when we renew of ours or something in like 10 years but for now they’re absolutely fine I just got a little cross over one like that and then ash got like a sort of brushed brushed silver i’d say one and they cost about 150 pounds each i think slightly less but i can’t remember exactly okay i’m ready some quick five questions because i feel like i’ve been talking for a long time uh so i’m gonna wrap this article up but the next question was what was your something old something new something borrowed something blue My something borrowed were the earrings that I was wearing because those were also my mom’s but she made it very clear that she wanted them back, and my something blue was something that one of my bridesmaids got me. It was actually a handkerchief-like napkin with a little personalized message from her to me on it and it was all in blue font um i just found it it was just so like you know what i didn’t even have anything something blue until she gave me that um literally the morning that we were getting ready it was so special do you have any regrets um and things that you wish you did or didn’t do honestly it was so perfect and i cannot tell you how perfect this was It’s just that we paid a lot of money for this food and it was all so delicious, especially the cheese, and I had some the next day to be fair but I didn’t eat it on the day and I really wish that I had like that’s genuinely one of my biggest regrets not eating as much as I should have but the other thing was, as I mentioned earlier, a articlegrapher. If we had the budget, I would have gone for a articlegrapher just so that That includes everything, and I mean everything, from shoes to rings to dresses to venue to catering to accommodation every single thing I’ve mentioned is 22 355 pounds including makeup for me and the girls hair me and the girls ever like everything waxing lashes anything wedding related is included in that that’s the only thing I kind of regret is that we didn’t even look at another venue so if you’re perusal this and haven’t had your wedding yet.

  • Such a great article Shan as always! 🥰 Did you include the men’s suits and your honeymoon? We had our wedding 25th June and it totalled around £6000 🙌 It was such an amazing day xx My only regret was not extending our articlegrapher to the whole day as we only had the budget to have him there with getting ready and our ceremony! But our article is beautiful 🥰 My other regret is our photographer not taking certain photos such as me and my dad in the car, the front of the church and our venue 😅 I did give her a list but it must be so overwhelming as a photographer to capture anything and we love the photos she did take! So i can’t complain 😅 So glad you both had an amazing day 🥰

  • I got married in 2018 and spent just over £5000. The costs are insane for normal things but when you put the word ‘wedding’ in front they triple the price 🤢 it’s disgusting but a great business to be in 😂 Thank you for being so transparent, this will be SO helpful for people xxx Ps. I’ve just looked at your playlist and GIRL what a selection. Right up my street 😂 our DJ understood the crowd and when the oldies had left it was a pop-punk fest and it was great 😄
